PLANNING YOUR PORTRAIT - We will consult with you regarding all necessary styling and clothing concerns for your session. Your portrait can be enhanced with proper clothing, colors, and items of interest…this is where we need your help. Please read the following suggestions and and call us if you have any questions.

CLOTHING - Simplicity is the key note in choosing clothing for your portrait. Avoid bold patterns and bright colors that tend to draw the eye away from the face when viewing a portrait. Keep in mind that white and light colors expand, and therefore add weight to the subject, while dark colors recede, making people appear slimmer. We recommend long sleeves to help keep flesh tones of arms from competing with the face. Dress full length, and be sure to coordinate socks and shoes. We encourage both formal and informal clothing. From jeans to formal attire…it’s up to you. We can help you select the outfit which is best.

GROUPS - Selecting appropriate clothing for groups is a little more difficult. Too many different colors and patterns will cause clutter, and you won't be able to "see" faces. It's important for groups to harmonize color and style, all formal or informal. No one person should dominate the portrait.

GROOMING - Make-up should be worn as usual. An extra coat of mascara will enhance your eyes, and a little color on the cheeks is desirable. Be sure to bring along your make-up, hair spray, and comb for last-minute freshening. Do not sunburn, it will give on uneven skin tone and add extra shine to your complexion. The same applies for deep suntans. We recommend that you do not try any new hairstyles for your portrait; your hair should, however, be freshly washed. Men should shave within an hour or so of the portrait session ( a five-o'clock shadow cannot be removed in retouching)

PORTRAIT SELECTION

APPOINTMENTS - You will need to make on appointment for every visit to the studio. Please be on time for your appointment. A $50 fee is charged for a second viewing appointment after the first.

DECISION MAKERS - Bring everyone who is involved in making the decision for your order (spouse, parents, etc.). Remember, you won't be taking any preview photos home. Your choice will be made at our studio, and the right choice will mean years of priceless memories.

ORDER - Be prepared to place your order at the preview appointment.

WALL SIZE - We recommend that you measure the size of the wall where you plan to display your portrait, and tell us the size. Please note: Due to the size of our business, and to the customer-oriented way we run our business, we are only able to offer one preview/order appointment.
